Raw Japanese Wagyu burger patty, BMS 6/7 marbling, delivered in Mauritius

There's the burger, and then there's the Wagyu burger. Take the most marbled beef in the world — the ribeye of Japanese Wagyu — put it through the mincer, and you get a patty of an entirely different order: meltingly tender, juicy, with a depth of flavour nothing else matches.

This guide explains what a Wagyu mince patty really is, why BMS 6/7 marbling transforms a burger completely, how to cook it so none of that exceptional beef goes to waste, and how we deliver it — halal, vacuum-sealed — anywhere in Mauritius.

Wagyu mince: far more than a beef patty

An everyday beef patty is often a blend of trimmings and leaner off-cuts. Our Wagyu burger is the opposite: 100% Japanese Wagyu ribeye, the noblest cut, put through the mincer. Nothing else.

Wagyu — literally "Japanese beef" — is the most marbled breed in the world. Its intramuscular fat, remarkably fine, melts the moment it meets heat and feeds the meat from within. It's the same signature that makes the legend of Kobe beef; here, you taste it in its most generous form — the burger.

In short: this isn't meat destined to be minced, it's Wagyu ribeye that happens to be minced. The marbling of the prime cut, in a patty.

The result: beef that's ideal for a gourmet burger or an exceptional barbecue alike. Every pack holds 4 patties of 150 g, each individually vacuum-sealed — cook what you need, the rest keeps in the cold.

Why BMS 6/7 changes everything

The BMS (Beef Marbling Standard) is the Japanese scale that grades marbling, from 1 (lean) to 12 (extreme marbling). Our Wagyu sits at BMS 6/7: rich, abundant marbling, yet perfectly balanced for a burger.

On the plate, that means:

The right grade for a burger: go higher and the marbling turns so rich it becomes almost too soft; BMS 6/7 keeps some bite. It's marbling for pure pleasure, not for excess.

How to cook a Wagyu burger

A Wagyu mince patty is cooked like a prime cut, not like a fast-food burger. The method that shows the beef off:

Fancy it over the coals? Our barbecue in Mauritius guide breaks down cooking over a wood fire. A lightly toasted brioche bun, a restrained sauce, and let the Wagyu take the lead.
